Member Board of Directors, South South Niger Delta Congress., Inaugural Legal Counsel, South South Niger Delta Congress., Legal Counsel, Ubium Development Association, USA Inc.
Dr. Esema brings a wide variety of expertise and credentials from the world of business, public and private sectors. He is the Chief Policy and Management Consultant – Spectrum Management Consulting Group, and the Chairman, Board of Direc tors of the African Policy Institute (API) an independent non-partisan, non-governmental organization dedicated to research, training, analysis, education and publication. He holds a PhD in Public Policy & Management, a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree in Law, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Philosophy. He is the author of "The Scramble for Political Supremacy in Nigeria"; Abstract in Systematic Theology, and Human Resource Development Process in Nigerian Industries – (doctoral dissertation).

Dr. Margaret King
Margaret King's Bio

Currently the Board of Trustees Secretary of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria (USA) Inc., Dr. Margaret King has tirelessly served the organization in various capacities, including the Chairman of the Programs Development and Evaluation, the Chairman of Organizational Restructuring Committee, Resource Development, Fundraising, M.C., Academic Excellence project, and Multi-year Strategic Plan in entrepreneurship development. She has rendered development assistance nationally to various chapters that have invited her to play such roles and has facilitated several, community development workshops, leadership seminar, business expo, and women forums during annual national events. She is one of the pioneering impetuses for the associations' conception in Chicago in the late 1980s. With sustained passionate involvement in the association's development initiatives, Dr. King has been an initiator of several successful programs both at national and local levels. The highly acclaimed national youth leadership development program that motivated and recognized youth high achievers, from which, a booklet, Youth Achievers, was written; the inaugural expose of Akwa Ibom Movie Artists to the USA; and the Chicago area Akwa Ibom Youth Language and Cultural Awareness program are a few. On the motherland, she works to ameliorate poverty by promoting economic self-sufficiency through education, Microenterprise, and youth entrepreneurship development as private-sector economic development strategies for Akwa Ibom and the Niger Delta region.
She has co-founded numerous community development organizations and sits on the advisory board of several others including the National Chairman of the U.S.-African Trade Relations; Midwest Regional Chair of Economic Development, U.S. National Summit on Africa; Illinois Governor's New Americans Policy Advisor; Board of Directors of Chicagoland Nigerian Community; Chair of Economic Development Committee and Secretary General of Nigerian Alliance; Founding President of Economic Recovery Institute, and the Women for African Development; and Alternate Board of Directors, South South Niger Delta Congress. Dr. King is also prominently involved with several professional organizations such as International Economic Development Association, American Economics Association, American Planning Association, Gulf Coast Economics Association, American Collegiate Schools of Planning, Women in Planning and Development, etc.
Often featured in news, Dr. King is internationally recognized with many prestigious awards including Teaching, Faculty Portfolio, Academic Excellence and the coveted Revlon and Kizzy Awards for Professional Excellence and Community Image. As a widely published author, an acclaimed key note speaker, and a sought after conference presenter, Dr. King is a regular TV guest on entrepreneurship, community planning, and economic development. Some of her books and professional articles include: The Women of Acts in Community Economic Development; Microentrepreneurship Planning Tool Kit; Geographically-targeted and Industry-specific Business Development; Global Poverty and Microenterprise Development: Developed and Developing Economies Partnership; Small Business Development in Undervalued Markets; Business Development Strategies: A Policy Approach; Urban Economic Development Policy; and many others.
Dr. King is a professor of development planning and organizational management and runs a consulting practice as the founding President and CEO of Metrocon International, Inc., an international community economic planning and development firm in Chicago. She obtained a Ph.D. in Urban Planning Public Policy with specialization in community economic development and entrepreneurship. Famous for citizen-oriented development planning, her attested years of diverse professional expertise continue to play a critical role in providing informed alternatives for seasoned decision-making in both public and private arenas with keen interest in the U.S. and internationally in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Mr. Christopher Oyobio, Sr.

Chris E. Oyobio, Sr. is currently a member of the Board of Trustee of the Association. He is the Chairman of the Governance Committee of the Board. His commitment to the association goes back to 1987 when he joined Washington DC Chapter. He had served his chapter in various capacities as President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Auditor.
He has tremendous capabilities and versatility in community work. His vast knowledge, expertise and experience are resource and guiding tool for both his chapter and the National body.
Chris. E. Oyobio, Sr. is an alumnus of Blackburn University, in Illinois. He holds two degrees; a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Political Sciences and a Bachelor of Art degree in Economics. He also hold two Masters degrees; one in Public Administration (MPA) and the second Masters degree in Financial Management (MBA) respectively as well as a diploma in Business Administration from the Greenwich University London England. He did his higher school in St. Gregory's College Obalende and his secondary education in St. Finbarr's College Akoka Lagos and St. Patrick's College Ikot Ansa Calabar respectively. He obtained his primary education from St. Gregory's Catholic School Kaduna and St. Patrick's Catholic School in Yaba, Lagos, respectively.
Chris. was a very kin soccer player during his school days as he played for St. Patrick's College Calabar in the colts' team and the senior team. He represented the then Southeastern State Academicals at the tender age of 16 in 1971. He also played for St. Finbarr's College Akoka Lagos and also represented Lagos State Academicals from 1972-1976. He also represented Nigeria in the Junior Academicals squad for 4 years. During his secondary school education, he signed up for African Continental Bank (ACB) where he helped win the Lagos State Challenge Cup for two consecutive years. He is a pioneer member of the then Calabar Rovers team in which he won Challenge Cup for two consecutive years with the team in 1976 and 1977. He also played for Julius Berger in Lagos team in which he helped win the LAFA league in 1978. He left the country for further studies in England from the national Camp. In London, he sign on for Lewisham Athletics football club but cut short his stay in this team due to academic work load.
- In 2002, he was elected the National President of the association. During this time he developed this association to a worthy association as he left the association's financial situation in a positive note and this brought back great credibility and respect to the association.
- He is presently the National President of the Oron Development Union (USA) Inc.
- He is also the Founder, President and Executive Director of the Nigeria Soccer Association USA Inc.
- He is also the President of the St. Patrick's College Alumni Association (USA) Branch.
- He is a member of the Board of Trustee of the St. Gregory's College Alumni Foundation (USA) branch.
- He is the Chairman of the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the Ibom People Congress USA Inc.
- He is presently working for the District of Columbia Government Traffic Adjudication Services as an Administrative Judge. A position he has held for the past 15 years.
- He is the also Treasurer of the American Federation of Government Employee. (AFGE) local 1975.
- He is also a senior partner with Chris. Carl. & Associate Washington DC; an associate of Kembio Ventures Ltd, Lagos Nigeria.
He is a result orientated individual as his achievements in all the association he heads have proven success. As a result of his expertise, he has been a strong voice for the under privileged Nigerian community in his locality and abound. He has been awarded series of plaques and certificates for his selfless services to his community.
His untiring commitment to his community development and his selfless service to youths on soccer development, earned him an outstanding leadership and visionary zeal in the community service award of the decade.
He is married to Thelma, an alumnus of University of Uyo; and blessed with three children: Stacey, Christopher,Jr. and Paul Oyobio.

Mr. Obong Umana

A founding member and First President of the Michigan Chapter of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria, USA, Inc., Hon. Obong Umana has served the Association at both the State (local) and National levels.
Hon. Umana is a past Chairman of the National Education and Youth portfolio (serving on behalf of the Michigan Chapter).
Hon. Umana served as member and Secretary to the Academic Excellence Project (AEP) committee.
Hon. Obong Umana most recently served as Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee, Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria, USA, Inc.
An Electrical & Computer Engineer, Hon. Obong Umana is a Forward Model Launch & Business Planning Manager at the Ford Motor Company, Michigan, USA., having held engineering and operations management positions in the past with Electronic Data Systems Corporation, Advanced Technology and Testing, and Visteon Corporation.
Hon. Umana has entrepreneurial interests in Art Publishing, Lean Manufacturing Operations Consulting, and Venture Capital Sourcing and promotion of manufacturing enterprises.

Mr. Eugene Okon
Eugene Okon's Bio

Elected to the Board of Trustee in 2004 and has served on the Communications, strategic, fundraising, Ethics and Education committees. He currently serves as the Chair of Programs and Resource Development Committee. Mr. Okon is an active member of the Washington DC Metropolitan Area Chapter. He became actively involved with the National Association in 1994, generously donating his time, energy and resources to the building of a vibrant organization. A pioneer member of the North Carolina chapter, Mr. Okon has held numerous positions including PRO 1996-2000 in North Carolina, Vice President and President of Washington DC Metro Area Chapter 2002 & 2003 respectively, the National Convention planning Chairman 2003 & 2006, National Strategic Committee Chairman 2004, and member of the Board of Trustees in 2004.
Mr. Okon is a passionate and result oriented leader with track record of accomplishments in Corporate and non-profit organizations. He serves on the Advisory Board of many organizations and on the World Conference of Mayors Trade Committee. Former member of the North Carolina World Trade Association (Raleigh chapter) Board programs committee, SIETAR-NC council (Society for Intercultural Education, Training And Research), Holy Cross Catholic Church Parish council, Human relation and International Relation commission Ad Hoc committees all in Durham, NC.
Mr. Okon hails from Mbiaya Uruan in Uruan LGA. He is a strategist, Operations Management professional and International Business Trade Consultant. He holds post graduate degree in Philosophy and Operations Management Technology. Mr. Okon is a frequent panelist in Radio programs, Seminars and Workshops.

Nsikan Inokon is former Secretary of the American Graduates Association, Akwa Ibom State, former member of Akwa Ibom State Land Advisory Committee Member, Councillor and Supervisor for Medical and Health, Ikot Abasi LGA; held editorial appointments with the Nigerian Chronicle, The Community News, and the Gong as well as Chief Personnel/Electoral Officer of the Independent Electoral Commission of Nigeria, INEC; a former Senior Master at Etinan Institute and Vice Principal of Oron Boys High School, Cross River State Publicity Secretary of the defunct Great Nigeria Peoples Party, GNPP; past President of the New York Chapter of Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria; Current President of Mboho Edemaya USA.

Mr. Equan graduated from Fayetteville State University with a Bachelor of Science. He also also obtained his MBA degree at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and is also currently working and progressing on his Ph.D. in (Applied Management & decision Sciences).

Mr. Isong Ekpenyong

Isong Ekpenyong was born in Akpa Utong Village of Asutan Ekpe in Ibesikpo Asutan LGA. He has lived in the United States for almost 30 years, primarily residing in Detroit, Michigan. With in that time he has made numerous visits to Akwa Ibom State for various reasons.
Educationally, Isong received a master’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in international business from the University of Michigan in December 2004. He also holds a B.S. in Automotive Engineering from Central Michigan University.
Professionally, Isong has over 15 years of automotive engineering experience with a major automotive manufacturer in the Metro - Detroit area.
His immediate family includes his wife, Mrs. Idorenyin Ekpenyong and their son, Master Iseno-Abasi Isong Ekpenyong.
Isong has faithfully served the Akwa Ibom community, both locally and nationally for numerous years and calls on all Akwaibomites to do so as well.
