Obong Umana has been in office since August 2008.
A founding member and First President of the Michigan Chapter of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria, USA, Inc., Hon. Obong Umana has served the Association at both the State (local) and National levels.
Hon. Umana is a past Chairman of the National Education and Youth portfolio (serving on behalf of the Michigan Chapter).
Hon. Umana served as member and Secretary to the Academic Excellence Project (AEP) committee.
Hon. Obong Umana most recently served as Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee, Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria, USA, Inc.
An Electrical & Computer Engineer, Hon. Obong Umana is a Forward Model Launch & Business Planning Manager at the Ford Motor Company, Michigan, USA., having held engineering and operations management positions in the past with Electronic Data Systems Corporation, Advanced Technology and Testing, and Visteon Corporation.
Hon. Umana has entrepreneurial interests in Art Publishing, Lean Manufacturing Operations Consulting, and Venture Capital Sourcing and promotion of manufacturing enterprises.

Godwin Ekpene

Godwin Ekpene's Bio
Godwin Ekpene has been in office since August 2008. He is from Ukwok in Ini Local Govt area of Akwa Ibom State.
A founding member of Akwa Ibom Assoc in Michigan. 1st Vice President of the association. Chairman of many committees including the scholarship committee, planning committees of annual launchings and fund raising events.
Professionally, a Biochemist (Calpoly alumnus) and a pharmacist from University of Toledo, Ohio. Has worked for hospitals and managed Big Pharmacy chains in the USA. Akparawa Ekpene, along with other Akwa Ibom pharmacists in the USA jointly sponsored with TopCare pharmacy of Uyo, a project to dewarm all primary schools in Akwa Ibom State, One school at a time.
Presently, the President of Powers Pharmacy, LLc of Michigan located on Harper Avenue in Harper Woods by St. John's Hospital.

Isong C. Ekpenyong

Isong C. Ekpenyong's Bio
Isong Ekpenyong has been in office since August 2008.
Isong Ekpenyong was born in Akpa Utong Village of Asutan Ekpe in Ibesikpo Asutan LGA. He has lived in the United States for almost 30 years, primarily residing in Detroit, Michigan. With in that time he has made numerous visits to Akwa Ibom State for various reasons.
Educationally, Isong received a master’s degree in business administration, with a concentration in international business from the University of Michigan in December 2004. He also holds a B.S. in Automotive Engineering from Central Michigan University.
Professionally, Isong has over 15 years of automotive engineering experience with a major automotive manufacturer in the Metro - Detroit area.
His immediate family includes his wife, Mrs. Idorenyin Ekpenyong and their son, Master Iseno-Abasi Isong Ekpenyong.
Isong has faithfully served the Akwa Ibom community, both locally and nationally for numerous years and calls on all Akwaibomites to do so as well.

Mrs. Unyime Ekpenyong

Mrs. Unyime Ekpenyong's Bio
Mrs. Unyime Ekpenyong has been in office since August 2008.
Unyime Ekpenyong is originally from Ikot Udo in Ibesikpo Asutan L.G.A. She served as the financial treasurer for the Michigan Chapter for 4 years. Unyime has a BA in Accounting from Walsh College and a Masters in Business Administration from Wayne State University. She is a Certified Public Accountant and is currently an Audit Manager at a Public Accounting Firm.
She is married to Ime Ekpenyong of Ukpom Ita, Ikono L.G.A. Both she and her husband have a son.

Eti E. Umana
(National PRO)
Eti E. Umana's Bio
Eti Umana has been in office since August 2008.
Founding member of the Michigan Chapter of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria, USA, Inc., Served the Association at the State level in various positions; chairman 2006 fund raising committee.
Eti Umana is currently serving on the HIV Testing Kits committee.
Educator, Mr. Umana works for the Detroit Public Schools, Michigan, USA, having held positions in the past with Michigan Department of Corrections, 1st Army, United States Army Medical Corp, Michigan National Guard.
Member Detroit Federation of Teachers; ran a successful campaign for DFT office 2006; Organized teachers at grass root level for quality education in Detroit Public Schools (DPS).
Mr. Umana has entrepreneurial interests in retail business & Raffia shoes manufacturing.
Mr. Umana will energize the National Secretariat; bring order and civility to association events. Mr. Umana will help the association conduct meetings in business like manner; consult with key leaders for ideas to move the stake holders and association Way Forward.

Ms. Sylvia Isang
(National Social Secretary)
Ms. Sylvia Isang's Bio
Ms. Sylvia Isang has been in office since August 2008.
Ms. Sylvia Isang is an indigene of Akpa Utong ibesikpo Asutan Ekpe LGA. She was born in the United States and returned home when she was 4 years of age. She completed both nursery, primary and secondary in Nigeria and is also an alumnus of Lutheran High school Obot Idim Ibesikpo '94.
Ms. Isang has a BSc in Business Administration '04 and is currently working on her second degree. Ms. Isang is also a founding member of the Michigan Chapter of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria, USA, Inc., and served as the chapter treasurer and later served as the Director of Social Affairs.
