OBITUARY: Pastor Akpan John Esenyie (1943-2024)

With heavy hearts but giving thanks to God Almighty who created him, the family of Pastor Akpan John Esenyie wishes to announce the passing into eternity of Pastor Akpan John Esenyie. He entered peacefully into Eternal Rest on February 26, 2024 in his house with his wife Nse and children by his side.

Pastor Esenyie was a member of many organizations including AKISAN- Atlanta Chapter, Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio, Nka Ikemesit Ndito Nsit, and Mbiokporo 2 Development Association in USA, Inc.. He was a Pastor of God in charge of Sanctified Mount Zion Assembly, Atlanta, Georgia. He established the Church as a branch from the one which is available in Nigeria. His dear wife, Nse, is a Deaconess of the Church and his children as members in addition to other congregation members. He was 81 years old.

Wake-Keeping/Vigil Night is scheduled on April 27, 2024 at 6pm at Akwa Ibom House, 5120 Old Bill Cook Road, Atlanta, GA 30349.

Pastor Esenyie was born in Mbiokporo 2, Etinan, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria and had been a long time resident of Lithia Springs, Douglasville, State of Georgia, USA. He was an Alumni of Howard University, Washington DC, USA. He will be buried in Nigeria shortly after the wake-keeping/vigil.

In addition to his wife Nse, he is survived by his children, brother, sister, nieces, grandchildren, Cousins, and in-laws. He will be greatly missed.
