Established on September 23, 1987, by the Federal Government under the guidance of General Ibrahim Babangida, Akwa Ibom State is steeped in a rich history and holds a bright promise for the future. Endearingly referred to as "The Land Of Promise," this state in Nigeria plays a vibrant role within the nation, significantly contributing to its cultural and economic fabric.
As one of the 36 states in the federation, Akwa Ibom State operates within a structured government comprising the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary. This framework ensures effective, efficient governance that addresses the diverse needs of its population.
