The Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria (AKISAN) USA, Inc. Scholarship Program is a flagship education initiative committed to advancing academic excellence and expanding access to higher education for Akwa Ibom students in the United States and Nigeria. Through merit-based awards, the program empowers high-performing students, strengthens communities, and reinforces AKISAN’s long-term investment in developing future leaders through education.

The Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria (AKISAN) USA, Inc. is pleased to announce the official opening of the 2025/2026 AKISAN Scholarship Program. The initiative underscores AKISAN’s relentless commitment to investing in education, empowering youth, and supporting academic excellence in both the United States and Nigeria.


USA Scholarship Details:

Ten (10) outstanding Akwa Ibom students studying in U.S. institutions of higher learning will each receive a $500 scholarship. Applicants must present a 2023 or recent transcript and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher to qualify.


Nigeria Scholarship Details:

Sixty-two (62) students—two from each of the 31 Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State—will be selected for the Nigerian category. The award tiers are as follows: 

₦100,000 for 62 students with a GPA of 3.5 and above

Applicants must be enrolled in a Nigerian institution of higher learning (University, Polytechnic, College of Education, or Maritime Academy) and submit a certificate of origin along with a recent transcript or WAEC result for first-year students.
