The Ibom Pride Award is a prestigious annual honor established and administered by the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria (USA), Inc. (AKISAN USA) to recognize outstanding individuals of Akwa Ibom origin whose achievements, leadership, and service have brought pride, distinction, and positive visibility to the Akwa Ibom community worldwide.


This award celebrates excellence across professional, civic, entrepreneurial, cultural, academic, and humanitarian endeavors. It is not merely a recognition of success, but an affirmation of impact, integrity, and legacy.

Purpose of the Ibom Pride Award


The Ibom Pride Award exists to:

  • Honor exceptional accomplishments by individuals of Akwa Ibom heritage
  • Celebrate contributions that positively impact communities locally and globally
  • Inspire current and future generations through visible examples of excellence
  • Preserve and elevate the legacy of Akwa Ibom people across the diaspora

Award Oversight & Governance

  • The Ibom Pride Award is organized annually by the AKISAN Board of Trustees (BOT)
  • Selection is guided by established criteria and due process
  • Final approval and conferment rest with the BOT to ensure credibility and integrity
  • The award is formally presented during the AKISAN USA Annual National Convention

Eligibility & Recognition Areas


Recipients may be recognized for excellence and impact in areas including, but not limited to:

  • Professional and career achievement
  • Entrepreneurship and business leadership
  • Public service and governance

Nominees may reside in the United States, Nigeria, or anywhere in the world.
