AKISAN USA Expresses Heartfelt Gratitude for a Successful 2025 National Convention

On behalf of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria, USA Inc. (AKISAN USA), I extend heartfelt thanks to every member, volunteer, guest and partner who helped make our 2025 National Convention, held from August 7–10, 2025 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA, a resounding success
Your presence and participation turned our theme, “Shaping Our Future, Embracing Change: Transforming AKISAN Today for Tomorrow’s Possibilities,” into a vibrant reality.

This convention would not have been possible without the dedication and generosity of many. We especially wish to thank:

The Board of Trustees, whose guidance and support continue to inspire confidence in our mission.

The National Executive Council, led by Engr. (Dr.) Mbong Ekiko, for their leadership and unwavering commitment.

The Women’s Wing and Youth Wing for injecting fresh ideas, energy and creativity into the program.

Our Host Chapters (Washington, D.C. and Chesapeake Bay) for showcasing extraordinary hospitality and organization.

The Convention Planning Committee, whose tireless efforts turned a vision into reality.

All donors, sponsors and partners whose generous contributions funded scholarships, vocational training programs and community projects. Committee members and volunteers who gave their time and talents behind the scenes.

A special thank‑you goes to His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, for supporting AKISAN USA by sending a 5‑member delegation comprising Mrs. Helen Obareki, Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, and Hon. Aniekan Umanah, Commissioner for Information. Their presence underscored the strong relationship between our state government and the diaspora community.

This convention reminded us what binds us together: our shared heritage as sons and daughters of Akwa Ibom. Whether we live in Nigeria, the United States or elsewhere, we are united by a common purpose, to uplift our people, preserve our culture and pave the way for future generations. By working together with kindness and respect, we showcased that unity truly is strength.

As we return to our chapters and communities, let us carry the spirit of this convention forward. Continue to connect, collaborate and support one another. Stay involved in your local chapters and be ambassadors of goodwill. Let’s keep embracing change, shaping our future and transforming AKISAN today for a brighter tomorrow.

Safe travels home, and thank you again for making the 2025 AKISAN National Convention an unforgettable experience!
